On September 19, 1998, the Board of
Directors of the Washington State University Alumni Association
unanimously agreed to endorse the WSU Alumni Band as a recognized group
under the Alumni Association.
This recognition enables the WSU Alumni
Band working through the appropriate channels with the WSU Music &
Theatre Arts Department to obtain mailing lists from the ADvancement
Services fofice to contact former WSU band members. If the group plans
on pursuing any fundraising efforts, the process should begin by
contacting the WSU Foundation Office for assistance and advice.
The Alumni Association appreciates the
contributions that the Alumni Band continues to make to many programs
and activities sponsored by the University. We are pleased to offer our
endorsement.

Dear Warren
and the Alumni Band-
You are our
heros! The consensus of the skippers, our staff and our guests is that
you were the best ever! You literally blew their socks off. The music
was terrific and your dedication and enthusiasm admirable - despite
wind, rain and rough water. The band & the "Elmore" made our Opening
Day Flotilla the best ever. We also had the warmest response from the
crowds that we've ever had. Warren, your organizational efforts are
greatly appreciated. Hope you all had a good time and will be ready to
go again next year.

Just a
quick note to let you know what a fantastic addition the Cougar Alumni
Band was to WSU's entry in the 1998 Opening Day Parade. The band did a
great job getting the crowd excited for WSU and really made our entry by
playing the "Jaws" theme for us. A very special thanks to Judy and Lynn
Logen for getting music at the last minute. Once again, WSU won the
Group Spirit award from the Seattle Yacht Club for showing crowd
pleasing spirit and enthusiasm. We couldn't have done it without the
involvement of the Cougar Alumni Band.
