The Randall Spicer Marching Band Scholarship Fund

Dear Friends and Alumni of the Cougar Marching Band:

We are seeking your help to establish a $25,000 endowed Marching Band Scholarship Fund in the name of former WSU Band Director, Randall Spicer. The purpose of this fund is to reward excellence in members of the Marching Band by providing an annual scholarships.

Mr. Randall Spicer came to teach at WSU in the fall of 1953. After retiring, Randall was instrumental in the establishment of the Cougar Alumni Band, and for several years, was deeply involved in its activities. Randall will always be remembered for his wealth of experience, human qualities of caring, phenomenal memory, constant optimism, and his ability to accept new interpretations, ideas and changes. In remembrance of his legacy and in recognition of his excellence in musical leadership at WSU, we the undersigned, and other alumni and friends of the Cougar Marching Band, establish this scholarship fund.

This scholarship is designed to provide student members of the Cougar Marching Band with a financial incentive to continue playing with the Cougar Marching Band throughout their college career.
