Cougar Marching Band Donations

Funding scholarships is a high priority of the Cougar Alumni Band, and can only be done through building our membership and donors! To support the WSU Cougar Marching Band, we have several options:

1. General Donations

The Cougar Alumni Band is accepting donations to help support the many financial needs of the Cougar Marching Band, be it support during "Hell Week," music or instruments, or towards our own scholarships or the Randall Spicer Marching Band Scholarship, we work with the CMB to support them with their highest priority needs!

2. Randall Spicer Marching Band Scholarship

The Cougar Alumni Band is proud to sponsor the Randall Spicer Marching Band Scholarship since 2009. A $1500 scholarship will be awarded annually to a qualifying marching band member. This scholarship was funded by members of the Cougar Alumni Band. This is one of the great causes you support by joining and continuing your membership with us.

How to Apply

CMB Members: Download the scholarship cover letter

This scholarship is intended to promote continued participation in the CMB throughout the student's collegiate career. Students apply for the scholarship by the January deadline, and the winner is awarded the $1500 scholarship after completion of the subsequent fall marching season. Send questions to scholarship@cougaralumniband.org.

How to Donate to the Randall Spicer Marching Band Scholarship

We endowed one $1500 scholarship in September 2008, and are within reach of a second endowed scholarship! Thank you to all who helped make our vision a reality. Your new and continued contributions can help us reach our goal of two endowed scholarships.

Please send application or donation questions to scholarship@cougaralumniband.org

About Randall Spicer

Randall Spicer came to teach at WSU in the fall of 1953. After retiring, Randall was instrumental in the establishment of the Cougar Alumni Band, and for several years, was deeply involved in its activities. Randall will always be remembered for his wealth of experience, human qualities of caring, phenomenal memory, constant optimism, and his ability to accept new interpretations, ideas and changes. In remembrance of his legacy and in recognition of his excellence in musical leadership at WSU, the alumni and friends of the Cougar Marching Band established this scholarship fund.
